In today’s marketplace, if you have a business
that advertises, recruits, or markets; you should definitely have

What
are the Steps and Costs Involved in Developing a Web Site?
Site Set-up Costs
Domain Name Registration
Your domain name constitutes your web address, for example: www.yourcompaniesname.com. The price for a domain name is $70.00 for two years. After the second year, the domain name registration company will bill you $35.00 annually. We can help you choose and register your domain name, and will include the cost of the initial two year domain registration in your proposal.

Hosting Services
There is a one time set up fee of $49.95. This is for uploading the site, entering name server records, and setting up email accounts for your domain. In addition, you will need to pay a monthly fee to Cibola Internet Services to “serve” or host your domain. For this fee, you get a set amount of space on a dedicated server connected to the Internet with a reliable, high-speed connection. Our hosting service comes with POP3 e-mail accounts that coincide with your domain name. The monthly fee will depend on the size of your site, and the amount of data transferred. Generally, the monthly fee of $24.95 will suffice most customers’ needs.

Server Co-Location Services
Some business customers prefer to own their own hardware and just need a place to co-locate it. We offer server co-location services. There is a set-up fee and monthly recurring fees for this service. Please call our office for additional details if you are interested in server co-location services. This is an optional service and not at all necessary for regular design and hosting services.

Web Site Development Fees
We do NOT believe in the cookie cutter approach to web design.
We do not use design templates where images are dragged and dropped into
a form. These types of websites all look the same. Each site
we design is unique and professional.
There are several elements necessary to develop a professional website
including:
- Design
- Layout
- Content
- Graphics (includes logo, graphic design, photos, etc.)
- Ease of use
- Website maintenance
Each one of these can affect the total site development cost depending
on if they are already developed or not.
Our web design will develop a site layout that is functional, user friendly,
pleasing to the eye, and geared towards your business needs and expectations.
If your company already has a logo that you want to continue using, we
will need a digital copy of it, or a camera-ready copy that can be scanned
to give a nice clean image to start with. If you do not have a logo,
or want to change, or upgrade your existing image, now would be a good
time to make that change. Things to consider are color scheme, graphic
image, text font, and type size. These elements will most likely
follow a theme throughout the web site. We can assist you with some
ideas in this process, or handle it entirely for you. If we handle
it entirely for you, we will utilize a graphic artist, and the fee for
logo design is $350.00. We not only provide logo design, but also banner
ad design, original graphic design and illustrations static or animated.
We can provide digital photography or provide you with an on-site photo
shoot if you like. We can take care of all your graphic needs from
the most simple to the most complex.
The content of a web site is the actual text that the visitors to your
site will be reading. It may be a description of your business,
who you are, what you do, what you sell, services you provide, why you
are better than others that sell the same thing, and general contact information
such as name, address, email address, phone number, etc. If your
content is already developed and written in electronic format, we will
take that and plug it into the design. This will minimize the cost
of content development. If no content is developed, we can develop it
for you by setting up an interview with you, finding out as much as we
can about who you are, and what you do and then write and develop the
content for you.
A level one basic package of one home page
and 3 additional pages starts at $475.00 when all content is
customer
provided. This package can have graphics, photos, links, and buttons and
is a great place for a small organization to start benefiting from the
World Wide Web.
A level two package can range from $500.00
to $3000.00 and includes 10 – 30 pages, graphics both static and
animated, java scripting (rollover buttons, pop-up menus), photos, icons,
basic shopping cart technology, etc. At this level, we are providing
full design and development services.
A level three package ranges from $3000.00
and up. At this level, we are providing full design and development
services combined with programming, sophisticated e-commerce options and
database integration.
Due to the individual nature of each web site we design, the cost to develop
site content will vary from site to site, and can range in cost from hundreds
to thousands of dollars.

Site Promotion Costs
All of our web site development packages include web site submission
to 10 of the most popular search engines on the Internet for no additional
charge. This is done by creating meta tags or keywords that people
might search on.
We recommend that minimally you should promote your web site by including
your new web site address on all your business cards, letterhead, yellow
page ad, email signatures, brochures and on ALL forms of media advertising
that you do. You should consider sending an email (with a hyperlink from
the email to your new web site address) or some other form of announcement
to all your existing customers, suppliers, vendors, and contacts announcing
your new web site.
Additional site promotion is up to you and your advertising budget. Once
your web site goes online, you can expect to receive emails from companies
offering all kinds of different site promotions for a fee. The large
search engine companies (such as Yahoo, Alta Vista etc.) offer site promotions
for a fee. These fees can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars.
The sky is the limit for promotional cost. You should promote but there
are web sites with little promotion that still do well.

How will my web site be maintained or updated?
We believe that it is important to keep your web site up to date with
current information. Maintenance will only be offered to those web sites
that we host. We can provide a maintenance agreement in your proposal
for a nominal fee. If you prefer to handle your own maintenance,
we will give you full ftp access to your web site files in your directory
on the server at no additional charge.
